Custom Metal Fabrication
Custom metal fabrication in Reno, NV. Brackets, guards, caps, one-offs, and production runs welded and formed to spec at our Dickerson Road shop.
What We Build
Not every metal project fits a neat category. Sometimes you need a custom bracket to solve a mounting problem, a set of vent covers fabricated to a specific dimension, or a decorative element that doesn't exist in any catalog. We work from your drawings, sketches, photos, or field measurements to fabricate exactly what you need. Our shop handles cutting, bending, welding, and finishing across steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper. If you can describe it, we can build it. To prepare drawings, measurements, and material details before you call, read our guide to working with a custom metal fabrication shop.

How We Build It
Custom fabrication starts with understanding your problem or vision. Send us whatever you have - napkin sketches, photos of existing parts, CAD files, verbal descriptions, or field measurements. We'll evaluate the project, recommend materials and approaches, and provide a quote. For complex or high-precision work, we may create a prototype for your approval before running the full order. Our shop is equipped with precision brakes, shears, welders (MIG, TIG, and stick), and grinding and finishing equipment. We handle everything from thin-gauge decorative sheet metal to heavy plate steel fabrication.
Material Options & Selection
We work with a broad range of metals depending on the application. Mild steel (A36 and equivalent) for structural and general-purpose fabrication. Stainless steel (304 and 316) for corrosion-resistant and food-safe applications. Aluminum (6061 and other alloys) for lightweight and corrosion-resistant needs. Copper and brass for decorative and architectural work. We stock common gauges and thicknesses, and can source specialty materials for unique projects. If you're not sure what material is right for your application, we'll help you figure it out.
Metal Sales Manufacturing - Flat Sheet & Coil
Need raw material for a custom fabrication project? As an authorized Metal Sales Manufacturing distributor, we stock and order pre-painted flat sheets and coil in 24, 26, and 29 gauge steel. Available in 16+ standard colors with Galvalume, PVDF, and Colorfast45 finishes. Whether you need material for your own shop or you want us to fabricate from it - we've got it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you work from my sketch or idea?
Absolutely. Many custom projects start with a rough sketch or a photo. We'll refine the design, recommend materials, and confirm dimensions before fabrication. You don't need engineering drawings - though they're helpful if you have them.
What's your minimum order?
We have no minimum order. We handle single-piece custom projects all the time. Whether you need one bracket or a hundred, we'll quote it fairly and build it right.
How quickly can you turn around a custom project?
Simple one-off pieces can often be completed in a few days. More complex fabrication or larger orders may take 1 to 3 weeks depending on design complexity and material availability. We'll give you a realistic timeline upfront.
Do you do welding and cutting as well as bending?
Yes. Our shop capabilities include MIG welding, TIG welding, stick welding, shearing, brake forming, grinding, and finishing. We handle the full fabrication process from raw material to finished piece.
Can you make replacement parts for existing equipment or structures?
Yes. Bring in the old part (or send measurements and photos) and we'll fabricate a replacement. If the original part failed due to a design weakness, we can often improve on the original design while maintaining fit. More Services
Do you work with homeowners, or only contractors?
Both. Contractors are a big part of our business, but homeowners bring us fireplace surrounds, range hoods, planters, brackets, and repair pieces every week. If you can describe it or sketch it, we can talk through it - no contractor required.
Where can I get sheet metal cut and bent in Reno?
Our shop at 2415 Dickerson Road in Reno cuts, bends, hems, and seams sheet metal from 24 gauge up to 16 gauge and heavier plate. Bring dimensions or a sketch, or email keith@proformmetals.com and we will quote it.
